Who we are

Wayland Foundry LLC ("WF," "we," "us") builds software for its Affiliates. "Affiliate" means any entity that, directly or indirectly, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with WF. This policy covers any WF application that connects to Intuit products such as QuickBooks Online (the "App").

The App is private. It is made available only to WF's Affiliates and their authorized personnel, and is not offered to the public.

What the App accesses

The App accesses nothing until an administrator of a QuickBooks company authorizes the connection through Intuit's authorization flow, and it accesses nothing after that company is disconnected. While a connection is active, the App accesses the accounting records that Intuit makes available through its API for that company: the company profile and chart of accounts; customers, vendors, employees and items; transactions such as invoices, bills, payments, expenses, deposits, transfers and journal entries; and reports built from them. It also holds the connection details needed to keep access working, such as the company identifier and authorization tokens. The App requests only the permissions it needs for the purposes below.

Why we use it

We use the data to operate the App for the Affiliates: internal reporting and dashboards, reconciliation, and day-to-day operational workflows, together with the support, maintenance, security and improvement of the App itself.

We do not sell the data, license it to anyone, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models.

Data from more than one company

Affiliates connect more than one QuickBooks company to the App, and the App may combine that data to produce consolidated reporting and comparisons across the Affiliates. Every connected company is under common ownership or control, and each connection is authorized by an administrator of that company. Consolidated reporting is provided only to Affiliates whose administrators have authorized it, and each company can see its own records at any time. Data from a connected company is never made available to an unaffiliated third party's account.

Who else sees it

Access is limited to WF and Affiliate personnel who need it for the purposes above, and to service providers that host or support the App. Those providers include cloud hosting providers and third-party AI model providers used to operate the App; they may use the data only to provide services to us, are required to protect it, and are used only under terms that prohibit them from using our data to train their models. We may also disclose data where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the security of the App.

How we protect it

Authorization tokens and other credentials are stored in encrypted form, data moves over encrypted connections, and access is restricted to authorized personnel. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect the data and will respond to any security incident affecting it as applicable law and Intuit's requirements direct.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep data while a connection is active and for as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal and recordkeeping obligations. An administrator can disconnect a company at any time from QuickBooks Online (Settings → Apps → Disconnect) or by contacting us; disconnecting revokes the App's access immediately. On request, we will delete data retrieved from a disconnected company within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it.

The App is not provided by Intuit, and Intuit is not responsible for it. Your use of QuickBooks is governed by your own agreement with Intuit.

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, makes no requests to third-party services, and collects no information about visitors.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the revised version here and update the effective date above.
